Diagnostic Centre / Scan Centre
For a scan centre (MRI, CT, ultrasound, X-ray, mammography), a pathology lab, or both under one roof. A patient registers at the desk with the doctor who referred them, pays for the scans and tests, waits for a token, is scanned or sampled, and collects a signed report. It runs on the same patient, imaging and lab records as the hospital, without the wards, theatre or pharmacy.
Set up before your first patient
- Pick what you run Settings > Hospital > Features. A scan centre keeps Laboratory off; a pathology lab keeps Scans & Imaging off.
- List your machines and tests Setup > Modalities & Tests: each modality with its default charge, and each lab test with its parameters and reference ranges.
- Build your price list in Setup > Scans, Tests & Packages, and your films, contrast and reagents in Setup > Consumables & Stock.
- Add the referring doctors under Records > Referral Doctors.
- Create a login for each person by the job they do: the desk on Front Desk, the machine on Radiographer, the bench on Lab Technician, the reporting doctors on Radiologist or Pathologist, the cash on Billing / Cashier. Each opens on its own worklist.
How the work flows
Register and bill
New > Register Patient, then New Scan or New Lab Test with the referring doctor. Bill it at the desk; a token goes up on the waiting-room TV.
Scan or sample
Worklist > To Scan lists every study still owed: slot it, then mark it scanned (Perform Imaging). The Lab Worklist does the same for samples (Enter Lab Results).
Report
The radiologist writes the findings and impression from To Report (Write Imaging Reports), flags a critical finding with who was told, and signs it from To Sign when sign-off is on (Sign Imaging Reports). The pathologist checks the bench’s results and releases them (Verify Lab Results).
Deliver and close the day
Print the report or send it on WhatsApp. Close the cash shift in Day Operations and read Cashier Collection and Patient Dues.
Reports
The hospital's report catalogue, without the in-patient sheets and the OPD queue’s (wait time, follow-ups): Imaging Register, Modality Utilisation, Lab TAT and breaches, Critical Results, Cashier Collection, Discounts & Concessions, Patient Dues and Referral Payouts.
Each reporting doctor is offered their own department’s sheets. A radiologist gets the Imaging Register, Imaging Turnaround (TAT), Imaging TAT Breaches, Radiologist Productivity and the Critical Findings Register; a pathologist gets the Investigation Register, Lab Turnaround, Lab TAT Breaches and Abnormal & Critical Results.
On a desktop the same keys work as in the hospital: Alt+N opens the New list, Ctrl+K searches every menu entry, and Ctrl+1 to Ctrl+9 open the work screens in menu order. See Keyboard shortcuts.
