Multiple Providers

For an operator who resells more than one upstream network - two MSOs, or a cable MSO and an internet ISP. Each plan and each connection carries its provider, plans carry the provider's cost beside your price, and lists and reports can be narrowed to one network. With one provider there is nothing to choose, so the feature stays off.

Switch: Settings > Cable > Multiple Providers. Permission: an owner or admin seat, for the Providers master.

Where it appears

Cable shell: Providers in Navigation; provider on the Plans and Connections forms; provider chips on Pending and reports; the Slices report.

Flow

    P[Providers master: name · service type · contact] --> PL[Plan: provider · your price · provider cost]
    PL --> C[Connection: provider follows the plan]
    C --> R[(Recharges by provider)]
    R --> S[Slices: subscribers · revenue · cost · margin per provider]
    P --> B[Provider bill: Purchase Invoice on the provider's ledger]
Provider is a master item; the margin per network is price minus the plan's provider cost.

and the provider’s cost] C --> D[New connections carry the provider] D --> E[Slices report: revenue and margin per network] E --> F[Decide which network is worth keeping]
Switch it on, put the master behind it in place, then do the first one — in that order, or the first one will not have anything to pick.
