Buy Old Jewellery for Cash
Buying scrap gold or silver outright, as opposed to taking it in exchange on a sale. The piece is weighed, dust deducted, purity assessed (a karatage calculator helps), priced at the board's buying rate and paid for; the scrap then goes to melting and its yield is recorded. Cash above the statutory limit triggers the PMLA / KYC dialog.
Switch: Settings > Jewellery > Buy Old Jewellery for Cash. Permission: Buy Old Jewellery.
Trade-in on a sale is separate and always available: the old-gold card on the invoice credits scrap against the bill. This feature is the standalone purchase screen and the melting register.
Where it appears
Jewellery shell: Old Jewelry (Cash) in Navigation. POS page: Jewellery > Old Jewelry (Cash). Report: Old Gold Melting Register.

- Old Jewelry (Cash) list - purchases by date, seller, metal, weight and value; reprint the receipt.
- Purchase form - one row per metal (gold and silver together are common): gross, dust, net, purity, rate, value, melting loss; the calculator converts karat to percentage.
- Melting - mark scrap as melted with the yield; the register shows sent vs recovered.
