Peak-Hour Surge

Charges more while the lot is busiest. Set a window and either a multiplier on the fee or a flat surcharge on top of it. Off, every hour of the day is priced the same.

Switch: Settings > Parking > Peak-Hour Surge Pricing. Permissions: Manage Rates & Bays. Needs Timing Fare on — there is no elapsed-time fee to surge without it.

Where it appears

Parking shell: Setup > Pricing Policy, and in the live simulation on the rate card. The surge is applied at exit, on the quote the barrier is holding out for.

Flow

    Q[Exit quote: elapsed-time fee] --> C{Daily cap
already reached?} C -->|yes| K[Cap stands. No surge.] C -->|no| P{Exit inside the
peak window?} P -->|no| N[Fee unchanged] P -->|yes| S[Multiplier, then flat surcharge] S --> F[Fee charged and stamped on the session] K --> F N --> F
A surge never lifts a fee past a daily cap the stay has already reached — the cap is the ceiling, and the surge is skipped rather than applied and then trimmed.

The window is read in the booth's own local time

Both wall-clock windows here — the peak band and the night flat rate on the rate card — are compared against the local time of the site, not the stored timestamp. A window of 18:00–21:00 means six in the evening where the lot is.

Setting it up

    A[Settings > Parking
Peak-Hour Surge on] --> B[Set the window
from and to] B --> C[Set a multiplier
or a flat surcharge] C --> D[Check the rate card's
live simulation] D --> E[Next exit inside the window
quotes the surged fee]
The rate card recomputes as you type, so the figures on screen are the ones the booth will quote.
Switching off loses nothing. A stay already charged keeps the fee it was quoted — the amount and the rate that priced it are stamped on the session, so a later pricing change never rewrites what was already taken.
